The advertising video - although for many it is just a short image between their favourite TV programmes, for the marketing industry it is a key promotional tool. In an era of digital transformation, where the market is saturated with all sorts of products and services, the advertising video is what can catch the consumer's attention and convince them to make a purchase.
Film advertising has the power to make even a brand new product that no one has seen before a sales hit in a short space of time. But is it really that simple? Well, no. Behind every successful commercial there is a lot of work, time and creativity on the part of many people.
Although the final product we see on our TV or smartphone screens lasts only a few tens of seconds, the road to creating it is long and bumpy. It starts with a concept - an idea to capture the attention of the viewer. Creating a script is nothing more than building a story around a product or service. This story must contain elements that will interest, enthuse and, above all, convince the potential customer to use the offer.
Once the script is ready, the planning stage follows - where and how each scene will be shot. At this point, logistics and coordination become extremely important. Then we move on to the actual production - filming. This is where the director, cinematographers, actors and the entire technical crew play a key role.
Once the shooting is complete, it is time for post-production, i.e. editing, colouring, adding special effects or developing sound. All this is done to make the final image as attractive as possible for the viewer.
